Former Chicago Radio Towers Fall

ABC7 Chicago has video of the former towers for WCFL, WLUP-AM and ESPN 1000 in the 100 block of 39th Street in the suburb of Downers Grove being demolished. The station’s coverage notes “they were not the original towers. The towers went up in 2003 to replace the original towers that were erected in 1932.” See the video here.

Legendary Chicago Personality Dick Biondi Dies at 90

Radio Hall of Famer Dick Biondi passed away on June 26 at the age of 90. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fameim inductee worked most of his career in Chicago, spinning the hits at stations including WLS, WCFL, WMAQ, WBBM and WJMK. A private family interment has been held.
